Test Boot Failure

Hi I am a first timer when it comes to building computers and I'm following the Newegg TV tutorials I have my ram(Kingston KVR1333D3N9/8g), graphics card(EVGA Geforce GTX 660), processor(AMD 8-core FX 8320) and heat sink all attached to my motherboard(970 Extreme3 R2.0) and my powersource(Kingwin 750W). When I went to test boot everything powers on fine and spin but my monitor doesn't read anything. Does anyone have any idea on what I may be doing wrong.

Do you have the main (20 pin or 24 pin or 20+4 pin) PSU connector AND the CPU (4 pin or 8 pin or 4+4 pin) PSU connector plugged in?
Is your CPU installed correctly and does it have its stock (or aftermarket) cooler attached correctly?

I have to 20+4 pin and the 4+4 pin plugged in I believe I have the CPU and stock installed correctly but I haven't tried reinstalling them because of the difficulties I have attaching the fan.

Did your mobo or case come with a small motherboard speaker? How many sticks of RAM do you have?

No speaker so I don't have anyway of hearing the beep and I have just one stick I uninstalled the cpu and heat sink and installed it again but still no luck.

have you tried moving your RAM to each slot and rying to boot with it in each location?

Yes I've tried all four slots

I'm using an HP 20wm monitor and a gigaware DVI-D dual link cable and everytime I test boot the monitor picks up no signal for dvi or vga

If you look (or search) in the forums here, you will find several articles explaining the troubleshooting process for new builds that won't boot.

Thanks for the help but I've been going through the forums like a mad man and I'm not having any luck
