Hi,
I recently bought ASUS ENGT440/DI/1GD5 graphics card. TDU2 is lagging, almost unplayable.
anything i could do? Is it due to the PCIe version of my motherboard? :??:

My pc configuration is as follows,
Intel Core2Duo 2.2GHz
2GB DDR2 RAM
ASUS GT 440 1GB DDR5 Graphics card
Intel DG31PR motherboard.

Solution
I dont think its a hardware issue. i have a core i7 pc with Nvidia HD graphics, and still got about 10-12 fps. i went back to previous drivers (just to test it) and i picked up 18 fps.

The reason this game is not very PC friendly, is that it is a PC port, it was designed for consoles.....
No it's not due to the PCIe version definitely.

What settings are you trying to play on? Did you install the latest drivers?

Download HWMonitor from www.cpuid.com and MSI Afterburner from http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/overview.htm and use them to check CPU/GPU temperates.

Use MSI afterburner and Task manager to check GPU and CPU usages.

Use MSI afterburner to check GPU clocks.

All of the above checks should be made when the game is on and lagging.

Did your PC offline? I never play Test Drive Unlimited 2 before but i do have encounter a very serious lag on TDU 1,after taking Lots of Time to figure it out,i found out that my pc is offline(i have limited online access),which cause the TDU 1 lag.I also install 1.66 patch, although im not sure whether i install 1.66 patch will make this games run smoother or nothing happen,or maybe after i install it i also require my pc online in order to run this games without lagging.(Although i dont play this games online,im still not sure why this games will run smoother without any problem while PC is online). If pc is offline,no matter we set the graphic to lowest setting,it will still lag as Hell! :fou:

I found this solution on steam forum TDU 2,which they also encounter alots of lag in this games, one of them mention that when he play offline, lag happen. So my conclusion is :Check your pc whether is online or not,if your PC is online, your TDU might run smoother.I cannot guarantee it works for you,but mine TDU 1 had tested few days already, like i saying,if i offline it lag,if i online it run smoother, even can running in high resolution (without anti-aliasing )

Hope this can help ;)

I know this is a bit old but I figured if someone were having the same problem this would help.

The problem I was having was that when I would drive on the road I would catch the occasional lag. Whenever I went off road I would lag to the point of not being able to play at all. When I came to a complete stop and didn't attempt to drive anymore it would show up perfect and as soon as I gave the car some gas I was back to horrific lag.

Fix: Go to settings, controls ands then controller configuration. Turn Vibration all the way down. Turn force Feedback off. Try to play again.

It might just be something that works for me but if it helps anyone else out than it is worth posting. And for those saying it might be hardware, I am running an FX-9590, GTX 970 SSC, Sabertooth 990FX R2.0, Corsair H75i and a Steelseries 3GC controller. If I can play CS:GO, Skyrim, Diablo 3 and GTAV on the highest settings possible than it is surely the game.
