Testing GPUs lifespan?

I was thinking that after this whole Litecoin craze pushes GPUs out the mining game like BTC did. Were most likely going to see this wave of highend AMD cards rush the market on eBay etc. These cards were used to mine and are pushed to there limits for long periods of time. Me personally wouldn't buy a used mining card cause there lifespan is dramatically lower then a normal gaming card.

My question: is there any way like they a benchmark or test that someone could test the card to see how it's been used? Or are we just left trusting the seller at this point??

I don't think anyone at this point should buy a used AMD card for these reasons. Mining has in my opinion destroyed the High end AMD secondary market..

You are left trusting the seller, then again ruining a perfectly good card takes a lot of skill. You will replace that card long before the lifespan expires
