[SOLVED] Testing out different Graphics card - Drivers

A friend I know which doesn't have much knowledge when it comes to computers as a whole, (especially hardware) has come to me and told me nothing is displaying to his monitors, not even the basic display adapters. His GPU is Nvidia while mine is AMD. he asked me what he could do so I got him to bring his GPU around so i could test it and make sure it wasnt his monitors.

It somewhat worked in my computer, at most it showed the basic display adapter instead of his GPU. To my knowledge, the basic display adapters only show when your computer doesnt have drivers specifically for that GPU? is that true?

If so, how would I go about downloading those drivers, i'm worried if i do something might happen to my previous drivers and I don't feel like mucking around with 2 different brands of GPU's and their drivers.
(I'm pretty sure it's the only thing that mightn't be working properly.)

Thank you.

Solution
for most part, you only get the drivers from either AMD or Nvidia

you don't need to remove the AMD drivers to install/run the MVIDIA GPU or the drivers.

Windows is smart enough to know which drivers to use.

refer here

get them from https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

If its windows 10 you should be able to run windows update and it should find drivers for GPU.
