Heya community,

System:
ASRock Z270 Extreme4
Intel Core i7 7700K stock clocks
Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX Vega 56

So for over a year now (yes I should have worried about this quite a while ago) my pc will randomly reboot in the middle of heavy loads (usually gaming + streaming or sometimes just gaming + youtube). (audible click sound when turning off)

This started after I replaced GPU and PSU. As there are no entries in the eventlog I assume it should be the PSU?

Can I just replace the PSU itself while keeping the wires plugged in (it's a modular psu after all) or do wires tend to also be the possible cause of my problem?

Would love to take the "easy route" here.

Thanks a lot in advance,
Tommy

When replacing the power supply, you need to replace the wires, too.

There is no telling what the pin-out on the wire are.

The wires on modular PSUs can differ from model to model and manufacturer to manufacturer.

Oh, I should have clarified that I'm planning on ordering the same make/model. So the conenctions would be the same.
