Question Testing ram slots

So my ram failed some time ago because my psu was failing and it took me too long to change it, i had 2x8GB and both failed, one doesnt work at all and one goes on a bootscreen loop, i now have both new ram and a psu but i am worried to test it because what if the slots are broken and could also break my new ram? Is there any way to check this without destroying my new ram?
