Text appears highlighted with yellow-marker in windows.

Hey guys!

The last few days a lot of text in windows have looked like this, as marked with yellow marker.

It´s both in windows settings, and the hover-tooltip in Chrome etc.

I figured it was some sort of text-to-speech i enabled, but the windows reader seems disabled.

Any ideas?

that is very strange. Have you booted into safe mode to see if it happens there?
right click start
choose settings
go to update & security/recovery
under advanced startup, click the restart now button

choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose start up options
hit the restart button
choose a safe mode (it doesn't matter which) by using number associated with it.
Pc will restart and load safe mode

if it doesn't happen in safe mode, could mean its a startup program to blame.
boot back into windows,
read this and make sure NOT to disable any Microsoft Services or Windows may not start right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows
if a clean boot fixes it, you will need to slowly (over a few restarts) re start any startup programs or services you disabled to find the cause.

I can't find anything that would cause highlighting to occur in settings outside of high contrast modes perhaps

try changing your desktop theme and see if it makes any difference. I doubt it but worth a try.
