I don't know what I have done but the text in the UT desktop menus and
multiplayer screens have suddenly gone a bit fuzzy, everything game wise is
still ok, just the text in menus and suchlike. Any ideas please?
I have tried changing resolutions but the text is fuzzy whatever I use. I
have not updated the ATI drivers or anything that I can remember.

winxp pro
athlon 2400
1gb
ati 9200
ut 436

thanks in advance for any ideas

Perhaps you've changed an antialias- or anisotropic-setting?

The problem with the world is stupidity. Not saying there should be
a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the
safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Well done, I went through every section of Display Properties and reset to
default and it is back to normal. Still not sure what I changed, but it
works. Thanks

It was definitely the anti-alias setting. Set it to 4x and see the
difference.
