Question Texting from PC keyboard

In my desire to make texting easier, I googled PC keyboard options and MYSMS was recommended. Since I was unable to make that work for me - I could not install the required app on my phone (none of three) and therefore could not meet the minimum requirement for asking them questions - a techie suggested MightyText, which I was eventually able to implement. MightyText seem keen to help with their email responses. So I succeeded in typing text on my PC keyboard and recipients getting an SMS on their mobile phones. Then things went awry. e.g. I created thread for each of 10 contacts, but only 5 of them showed in MESSAGES on the PC. I became unable to augment the CONTACT LIST on the PC (although I could on the phone), and various things went wrong within a thread. So despite my early success, it is now not looking good. I had also tried Pushbullet, which was the easiest to implement, but dificult to associate contact's names with their numbers. Is there some system that is trouble free and user friendly for allowing me to use a PC keyboard to write SMSs ?

Join the 2019 era and you won't be using SMS' anymore, you use programs that send chats/messages for free via the net.
For instance- Whatsapp, WeChat, Line, Skype, and the list goes on.
