im building a gaming pc(first one) and I acidently bought a motherboard that only supports 6th gen cpus, I will not be recording or streaming, the computer will be used for gaming only.I will be buying a gtx 1060 or 1070, will a i5 6500 be ok or will it give me problems in the future.Im moving from console so i will be easlily pleased and do not care about what are the "coolest" parts,I just want to play the latest games that look and play like they should

Solution
i5 6500 or better - the i5 6600/6700 will be great for years.
The stock cooler which is included with the non K series is ok (cheap) but you might want to buy a heatsink that performs better which might drop the cpu temps 1,2 or 3 degrees C.
The gfx card does most of the heavy lifting in gaming, so get the 1070 if you can afford it.

Heyo mrface90

The 6500 won't bottleneck for now, and probably won't for a few years yet to come. So no worries here. As of the mobo you bought. It doesn't really matter, since the new Kabylake CPU's isn't that much faster, although still newer and therefore the "more future proof" choice.
Anyhow, what resolution do you plan to game on? If it's just FullHD, then stick with the 1060, I don't think you'll be getting a 144hz monitor, but I can't say :) If going for anything higher than FullHD, go for the 1070, since it will get to "stretch its legs" more with a higher resolution.
This might make what I'm trying to say a bit clearer:
GTX 1060 = 1080p@60-144hz
GTX 1070 = 1080p@144hz / 1440p@60-144hz

Cheers

I only plan to play at 1080p at the moment but I will most likely will upgrade in a year so thats why I was thinking the 1070, I am trying to decided if the 144hz is worth the extra money ,iv no first hand experance in what it looks and plays like, and I have no pc at the moment at all so saving money means I can get gaming faster .
