The 1080p/1440p card for me

Hi, I'm looking to get a new graphics card along with my new system and I want to be playing high-ultra for some time into the future as I would rather spend then money for a different component down the road. As a known thing, I know that the i3 will not be enough in the future, but my friend has it with a R9 290x and has no bottleneck (unbelievable!) but I will replace in near future. I have picked three to choose from and I can't distinguish which to get. The three are a Spphire reference R9 290, a XFX R9 280x DD Black Edition, or a EVGA GTX 960 FTW 4GB. Can you please tell me which one will suit my needs. Pc specs below and noise and heat don't matter a lot but will be important.

BTW: max for whole system (without hard drive and optical drive): $515, max for vid card: around $240

A 290 is best out of those options. But the power supply is a poor choice, and for a 290 you will want around 650W high quality power supply. EVGA 600B is low quality. Buy an EVGA 650W GS. Or buy the 750W EVGA B2 (often similarly priced and great).

R9 380 will give you most performance for the same price as the 960. But this still won't run ANYTHING at high/ultra at 1080p. Especially not at 1440p. You would be lucky to run medium settings at 1440p.
