So recently built a semi new pc, It's had new RAM, CPU, MOBO, NVME'S

I will list the specs now

- ASRock PG Lighting & Then a Asus TUF B650 Mobo
- AM5 7900 CPU
- Corsair DDR5 5200mhz 16GB x 2
- GTX 3070
- 750W Psu

So basically, I'm getting random crashes sometimes frequent some times every 2 days, The error listed when the pc reboots is "Kernel 41". I've done plenty of debugging trial and testing to fix this issue and I'm still no better off!

  • I've bought a replacement Motherboard, replacement PSU (1000W) and these didn't fix it.
  • I've disabled XMP and allowed the ram to run at 4800mhz didn't fix it
  • I've brought driver utility programs to have every driver up to date, still no fix
  • I've done all the usual fixing when you google "Kernel 41" still the problem occurs..
  • I've tried each ram stick one at a time, still no fix..
  • BIOS Flashed all up to date.

I'm clutching at straws here and I'm down a lot of money (£1100ish) If I can't fix.

Any suggestions would be greatly apricated

event 41 (63) is the result of a report windows runs at startup. It is created when windows finds the previous restart was unexpected. Windows doesn't know why its happening since you not getting any BSOD I assume (you didn't mention any)

AS you found, it doesn't just mean its the PSU. It can be anything...

ram normally wouldn't cause restarts.

Its not during games or anything? Just random?

Anything show in reliability history? It will show hardware errors as windows sees those unexpected restarts as hardware errors. Anything else?

new mb, new PSU.

Might want to run Prime 95 and see if it finds any problems (it can run a long time so maybe run it for a few hours and see if any errors show - running overnight works too)

I've brought driver utility programs to have every driver up to date, still no fix

these programs can make things worse. They don't always get the drivers right, I have learned that myself.

Hi Colif, Thanks for the reply

It just happens randomly.. which is frustrating!

The audio stutters really bad when It's about to happen.. Do you think Realtek Audio drives could be the problem?

I know it's going to be something relating to drivers rather than hardware.

Prime 95 reports no faults

Also In reliability history

It's reporting
- Windows ( Windows was not properly shut down)
- NAVIDIA Container
- NAVIDIA Container.exe

Hi man. I have/had the same issue as you. PC reboots with no warning or error msg other than the Kernel from event viewer. My PC usually reboots once every other day or so. However, what I have done is to check every power connection in my build. The 12 pin to the mobo usually being the one causing problems. I checked the 12 pin, two 6 pins onto my cpu and gpu. Then i did the same on the PSU. Now I did this yesterday, but atleast as i am writing this, I haven't had a reboot. Check your cables. Take them out and reinsert them, and remember to head for the click sound. Hope this help.

Hey thanks for the reply, It's had a second power supply so that's already been ruled out, I've now changed the GPU to a 1070ti and extact same issue occurs.

Really hope you can find a solution to this. I am sitting here crossing my fingers for not another reboot my self.

It's been two days for my without a reboot after reinserting power connectors. Usually by now I have had at least one reboot.
