The Best budget RAM module?

Hello I need to buy 8gb of RAM for my PC and I'm leaning towards Kingston HyperX series because they are one of the cheapest and offer excellent performance. My motherboard is MSI Z97 Gaming 5. I have found 2 options:

The Savage series are bit better (apparently) but Fury RAM modules have 1866mhz. Savage RAM is a bit more expensive but that's no problem. So which one do you guys think I should get?

I'm confused. Your question seems to be about "budget RAM" and then you say "a bit more expensive isn't a problem".

You provide no details on your processor, your motherboard and whether you will be using this RAM in a configuration that relies on an integrated graphics processor (the one place where faster RAM has a noticable effect).

In most circumstances, the difference between DDR3 1600 and DDR3 1866 cannot be observed outside of a benchmark - and needs a motherboard that has XMP profiles or other tweaks to utilize the higher speed.

So what is it intended purpose?

I will be using my PC for gaming mainly. CPU is 4670k. Motherboard is MSI Z97 Gaming 5. I will have a GPU (GTX 970). I just wasn't sure which RAM module is better I think spending another £5 is worth it for HyperX Savage over HyperX Fury as the HyperX Fury's product details on Ebay state that HyperX Fury is more entry level while HyperX Savage is for high performance systems.

Then sure, the $5 between one budget brand and another is a small thing. You can get the one you prefer. Check the timings, check the heat spreaders and make sure the RAM will fir and not impede an air cooler if you're putting a huge air cooler into the case. When you install, remember to turn on XMP profile for the higher speed memory.

Both sets are basically entry level, there will be ever so slightly higher performance from the greater bandwidth of the 1866 sticks, that slightly overcomes the higher CL used........in today's rigs 1600/9 is considered entry level - high performance in 1600 would have a CL of 7 and in 1866 a CL of 8....Either of the Kingston sets should work - however....on the Fury's they don't utilize XMP unlike 99.9% of all other DRAM, the Fury sticks depend on PnP, so ideally you just plug in and if BIOS is ready it will automatically set them u, no muss no fuss the Savage sticks do run under XMP so set up with them is go into BIOS and enable XMP select profile 1 and you should be good to go
