Lisbon!

Well i still have half a dozen 4x RW!
When the 10x show up here i´ll get some!

In the mean time i´m negotiating with a friend of mine, which has many 10x RW (got them from Plextor itself! He´s a
tester for Plextor! Lucky him!):-D

If you had asked 2 weeks ago i would have said plextor was the best hands down....however i just purchased a sony crx 160e and i must say that i am very impressed with it.....it is only 8x re-write but 12x write and 32 read. I bought the drive because i found a really good price on it at best buy.....it supports every type of writing software i have tried with it "cdr-win,adaptec,nero,clone cd,disk juggler" plus it also overburns well.....This is nothing that the plex writers wont do but the price difference may tempt ya...hope i helped!

AOpen 12x = plague

I had to have mine replaced, and I still have problems with it. The tech guy openly admitted that they're having problems with them. I've already wasted more time and money on coasters than I saved by buying the aopen over the plextor. Save yourself, get a plextor :)

Here is the scoop : ) Hi, it is apparent after researching this that hardly anyone knows of the current capabilities of the Eide 12x10x32 Teac W512EB Bios 2.0B which "FULLY" supports Clonecd (including write simulation which no plextor drive supports) and also does use BurnProof technology! The early model of this drive did not use BurnProof technology and the newest bios 2.0B is required for it to work fully with Clonecd (the reason why this Gem has not sparkled till now). I have tested with Clonecd and it works flawlessly! I stalled it by hitting Esc key (litmus test) and multitasked and played a game all during the burn of a copy protected game. Very impressive and fast for as low as 150 dollars, a full 85 dollars cheaper than its plextor counterpart. I bought two to replace my plextor 8/20 scsi drives which will produce coasters if I do any of the above while burning. Anyhow IMO, right now the Eide Teac 12x10x32 is a better buy than the Eide Plextor 12x10x32 although Plextor is still great.
