I am looking to upgrade my GPU and would like to know the closest I can get to top of the line with the hardware have.

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Processor 3.21 GHz
Asus Crosshair IV Formula
G-Skill DDR3 2133 8G x 2
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Seagate Barracuda 7200 SATA 2 TB x 2
LG Bluray Burner
My current GPU is GeForce GTX 460.

Thanks for your time guys and remember I want to have the best GPU compatibility wise and price range from $400-600!

I suggest getting an r9 290x on newegg right now, they are having great sales and it would be the best you can get for your system because anything better that comes out in the future, your cpu will not keep up with it.

If you want a card in your price range:
Click Me

Note: You WILL get a massive bottleneck with your CPU but this can be fixed with upgrading your CPU and Motherboard.

If you want something cheaper and still performs good:
Click Me

This will also be a bottleneck but again, upgrade your CPU and Motherboard.

I would recommend an R9 270.
It will allow you you to play most games on high settings with 50FPS. (Not something like Witcher 3: The Last Hunt or Assassins Creed: Unity, those games take a lot to run.)

But if you have $600 to spend on everything, I would say getting a new Motherboard, CPU and a GPU, this will allow you to get higher end components in the future.

I stand by suggesting a r9 290x because of it's price right now. If you do see that it is bottlenecked by your cpu, then you can upgrade later. But I personally feel that a 270 is very underwhelming for today's standards.

Thanks guys I think you are right it is time to upgrade to a new system its a hate love thing to do but if I want to keep up on the new games its just what I need to do!

I decided to go with EVGA 02G-P4-3753-KR G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 750 Ti. The reviews on the product were perfect which is rare. It shouldn't bottleneck too bad if at all and it is just a temp fix while I build a new comp. Thanks for the support guys.
