I plan on buying the Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 motherboard. I already did my research on which PC case to buiy for it, which is a cooler master: MasterCase5. I just want to know which GPU, especially a high-end one, would be good for this board and the PC case i mentioned?

Solution

dont, am3 is a dead end not worth buying new and any high end gpu will be utterly wasted on it

look at a am4 b350 with a ryzen 1500x

or an intel b250 motherboard with a i5 7500
You sound like you might be new to this. That's a nice motherboard but it's for the AM3+ CPUs. The AM4 CPUs are out now. This does not mean you should rule out putting together an AM3+ system, but if you do put together such a system it does not make sense to spend lots of money on it. At Newegg right now that's a $160 motherboard...for an outdated system.

To answer your question, assuming you're going to use an FX 8xxx CPU, a 480/580 or 1060 would be the 'high end' videocards to look at.

My suggestion would be to spend the minimum possible if you're set on building an AM3+ system, and if you have money to spend and aren't afraid to spend it on 'high end' components then look at the Ryzen 1400 at least.
