@helpstar WD20EZAZ why is write no SMR?? in mono disk and then..smr
the maximum air density they managed to obtain on the plate with the conventional PMR method is 1.4 max 1.8 TB. It goes without saying that if you read that a 2TB disk has a platter only then it is definitely an HDD of the SMR type

I have found this but it seems slower the lap of the 5400rpm disc ??
it is a smr it is not correct what they indicate in the site I searched on the internet

Might be a wrong value written by copy and paste but a 2TB HDD has a real data capacity of 1,81899 TIB

Why exactly do you want a CMR instead of SMR or other?

in my opinion, HDD not suitable for use in arrays with assiduous writes.
if an SMR unit is subjected to long and intensive overwriting, it will not have enough downtime to reorganize the magnetic traces; therefore there will be an increasing number of such magnetic traces not temporarily modified. As a result, the SMR unit may need to write new data and reorganize the previous magnetic track at the same time, affecting to some extent the read / write performance.

what is the intended use case for this drive(s)? it all depends on what you intend to use them for after all. you are way too concerned with nothing.

better yet, get a 2TB SSD and forget all that rubish

you most likely have no need for raid arrays anyway (which are a major pia AND expensive)

this is the best and fastest SILENT drive you should even consider at 2TB for $280

this one too for only $213

no useless and expensive raid needed. no mechanical parts, no read/write performance concerns

If you tend to like better performance and more silence, maybe you want a SSD?

On SMR only the write performance is affected and will decrease versus a CMR. But are very cheap and will perform most of the time similar to better than CMRs, till the cache is full. Maybe getting 2 or 3x 1TB HDDs might be a safer way to get a CMR?

a little more expensive than the toshiba p300 don't you think?
I try mixed use also for saving the photo safely and ssd not mmi seems indicated in time as safe storage I would say that it is better hdd 2 3 tera but good price possibly silent and reliable over time but certainly not so expensive wd is excellent brand I have 2 in my 10 year old system never a problem but I am one of 500 gb and one of 1 tera pwr.
