That's really cool! I realize it likely has worse prospects for gaming than full "ignore-the-world" VR, but for everything else, I'd say it makes more sense.

Xr is really starting to gain momentum in Silicon Valley i hear it more and more lately. Even mixed reality i have seen described as xr to stop the mr mister confusion that some people cant seen to get past . One term for all realities creates less confusion for the general public.

ok, expect these kind of freak shows all over the place, since these VR / AR will not hit mass adoptions, you'll be left with weird freak shows of VR / AR when you go on various vacation spots

The "matrix mode" sounds more like a debugging aid for hardware & app developers, than a feature intended for end-users. I'm betting the consumer version doesn't have that knob (or it's a general purpose menu-wheel, with "matrix mode" buried in some menu tree).

The "dodging bullets" app sounds like an interesting game idea, especially for fitness-oriented AR games. They just have to keep it slow enough that the HMD doesn't fly off.
