The Best PCI-e Graphics Card (GPU) For Pentium 4?

Hi, I dug around and found my old Pentium 4 CPU. It's a very rare hard to find Pentium chip that intel made then killed of the Pentium line. The specs are as follows:

- Pentium 4 3.2Ghz
- 2MB Cache (double the cache of 90% of P4's that had 1MB and below.)
- 65nm (less heat vs 90% of all P4's that used 90nm)
- LGA775 / 800Mhz FSB.

Can anyone advise me on what the best PCI-e GPU I can get that will not be a major bottleneck with this CPU? I was hoping to get the 9600GT DDR3 512MB. Is it to much of an over kill for the CPU? The current spec of the system already has 2GB of DDR2 800Mhz of ram.

please advise, this is very important.

Regards.

Hi, yup thats the chip (super man... :))

How much of an over kill would it be for this chip? I was hoping to get at least 75% out of the GPU. If it is to much of an overkill, what GPU would you reccommend that shows very minimum bottleneck?

Regards.

The 8600gt is a very poor card to game with. The 9600gso will be slightly bottlenecked by your cpu but you will get much higher fps then the 8600gt. Even a fast quad core with a 8600gt wont give you more fps then a P4 with a 9600gso. You could even get a higher end card but the extra cost is not worth the minimum gain with that cpu. I highly recommend the 9600gso it will run most of your games fine and its only 35$ with free shipping cant beat that. =]

The card you posted is slower then the 9600gso and its more expensive. Why would you go for it?

Hmm, seems to be a mistake here, the 9600GSO you posted shows up as $54.99

Ohhhh. Try to find the cheapest 9600gso or 4650 you can. Those 2 cards is what i would recommend. Make sure they have above 256mb+ of video memory.

If the 9600gt/4670 is a just a bit more money you could go for those as well.

Aww, you guys are so lucky. Someone should open up a biz there that buys stuff from there and ships them abroad... That would be a killer biz.
