The Tom's Hardware editors have been hard at work, digging through the pile of Prime Day October deals, both on Amazon and on competitors such as Newegg and Dell.com. I've been covering Prime Day deals since the first Prime Day and been covering Black Friday even longer.

To be fair, this is one of the weakest deal holidays I've seen, but that's why it's important to separate the few pieces of wheat from the enormous dumpster of chaff. These deals may be on PC hardware that you could use for an upgrade or on smaller accessories and tools that could be game-changers at your desk. So here are some of our favorites:

Trying to picture this "enormous dumpster of chaff" .... yuck! Has anyone seen any deals on the new Surface Laptops? I've been waiting for them to come down a hair before I jump in, but the only Surface products I've seen on sale are the 2-in-1s.
