Hi everyone,

I am rather new to posting on the TH forums, but I've been used them for years to help me troubleshoot problems that I cannot solve. I have ran into this issue once again but this time it;s much more specific and I cannot find any other forum posts about this issue.

My laptop's Bluetooth capabilities have inexplicably vanished.

Here are the specs of my laptop to start:

HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00:
-Windows 7 Home Premium (x64 bit)
-Intel Core i7 processor
-16 GB RAM
-250 GB SSD
-Radeon HD 7690M XT graphics chip with 2GB of dedicated video memory
-Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 Wireless adapter with Bluetooth.

What Happened:
Everything had been running perfectly with my laptop for about a year and a half before this problem occurred. I had just purchased a Sony Playstation 4 controller for using to game on my laptop for a few games that were not ported to PC quite right. In order to make the PS4 controller work I had to make my PC believe that it was actually an XBox controller. To do this I used a program called ScpServer and plugged into the PC via USB. I have to plug in the controller first, then boot ScpServer and it will identify the controller and essentially translate my button presses from the PS4 configuration to the XBox configuration. It worked perfectly, and I have had no problems with it. I then decided to attempt to use my controller via Bluetooth connection and still use the ScpServer. That too worked perfect until I ended the Bluetooth connection. Once I ended the connection my Bluetooth icon disappeared from my systems tray. I can no longer find my Bluetooth adapter in my Device Manager, I can no longer search for other Bluetooth devices, other Bluetooth devices do not see my laptop, and I can find no sign of it existing anymore in my laptop. I then installed a pack of command lines tools that allows me to control my Bluetooth via command prompt, when I enter "BTinfo" it should show me my device status and device product information. I receive the message: "Local Bluetooth radio not found".

What I've Done:
So far I have done:
-Rolled back the wireless adapter's drivers.
-Reinstalled the wireless adapter's drivers from the HP site for my laptop's drivers.
-Reinstalled the wireless adapter's drivers from the Intel site.
-Reseated the wireless adapter.
-Contacted Intel (they couldn't help me)
-Attempted to contact HP (my warranty is expired so they won't talk to me until I purchase an extended warranty.)

I realize that a new Wireless-N 1030 adapter is only about $10, but the reviews on amazon have people hitting the same issue with the newly purchased adapters where the Bluetooth just doesn't show up.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thank you!

I actually managed to figure out how to fix this. I spend months trying to figure this out and I solve it within an hour after posting here. Go figure haha. Anyways, I had to got to the Intel site and download the ABSOLUTE FIRST driver for just the Bluetooth and then the most recent driver for the wireless. I then had to uninstall my wireless adapter from device manager completely. Then install the Bluetooth driver first, and then the wireless driver. You cannot update the driver for the Bluetooth or it will disappear again. The wireless can be updated as you please, but it cannot be installed when installing the Bluetooth driver.
