And i switched from r7 1700 to intel 12400F

So you've bought only the 12400 thus far? (If so, your $160 away from a decent B660 board, which when paired with your CPU, will ultimately will be a little faster than any 5600X-based system anyway)

So unless you are reconsidering a 5800X or above, your existing path, if only in it's first few steps, is already quite solid...but, if your mainboard supports the 5600X, that pairing might still prove more than satisfactory, but, only if you can escape shipping/restocking fees for the 12400/12400F...

I bought the full set of 12400F, inc b660m pro aorus ax, ram, psu etc

Leaving 2 separate fully functional pc, while day dreaming of upgrading ryzen when needed
You can just sell the old system. Should give quite a bit of cash back. The 12400F is definitely the slightly stronger CPU here and the platform is more modern and won't hamstring your CPU like the old board might the Ryzen, it feels a little silly to fret over it like this especially since you built the new system already. An upgrade of the Ryzen system under the current circumstances would only make sense with a Ryzen stronger than the 5600X, like a Ryzen 5800X.
