I doubt you would be able to run 3600MHz RAM on 300 series MB because of bad memory path topology. Might as well keep 3000 because difference would be negligible.Maybe...
I will have to sell the 1700, 3000mhz ram, for 5600 and 3600mhz ram , just to save b350
But at this point , why shouldnt i also sell the b350 for full sys upgrade...?
Intel appreciates the cash infusion I'm sure.Seems like my b350F can finally use 5600/x after all these year...
And i switched from r7 1700 to intel 12400F
Maybe...And do you regret your purchase?

Is the ram mhz limited by mobo or cpu...?3600MHz RAM on 300 series MB
I bought the full set of 12400F, inc b660m pro aorus ax, ram, psu etconly the 12400 th
Yes, MB is limiting factor. Is the ram mhz limited by mobo or cpu...?
I cant even get stable 3000docp but fine with 2933
While mobo site states it supports 3200
You can just sell the old system. Should give quite a bit of cash back. The 12400F is definitely the slightly stronger CPU here and the platform is more modern and won't hamstring your CPU like the old board might the Ryzen, it feels a little silly to fret over it like this especially since you built the new system already. An upgrade of the Ryzen system under the current circumstances would only make sense with a Ryzen stronger than the 5600X, like a Ryzen 5800X.I bought the full set of 12400F, inc b660m pro aorus ax, ram, psu etc
Leaving 2 separate fully functional pc, while day dreaming of upgrading ryzen when needed
Thats my thought, leading to being silly of thinking the upgrade path, it feels a little silly to fret over it like this especially since you built the new system
