I'll suggest updating the driver by clicking Update Driver in your Device Manager. That'll start the Hardware update wizard
I did find this statement also:
"If you run the Hardware Update wizard and the wizard does not find your drivers, it means that the manufacturer or vendor for your device has not added the drivers for your device to Windows Update. In this case, you must refer to your product documentation or visit the web site of your device manufacturer or vendor to download or request the correct drivers for your device." found here

I am assuming that the drive has worked and that it was purchased from a legitimate retailer (counterfeit drives abound)
