The difference in gaMing between i7 and i5 processor in Dell imspiron 15 5577 gaming laptop

I am thinking of buying Dell inspiron15 5577 gaming laptop with i5 5300 HQ ...I noticed another version of this laptop at i7 processor. I want to ask this that how much of difference in gaming performance will be because of the two processors

Probably not a whole lot of difference between the i5-7300HQ models & the i7-7300HQ models. Sure, the i7 is a 4C/8T CPU (vs. the 4C/4T i5), but there's maybe a literal handful of games that you'll even see the difference in performance. And any potential difference will be nerfed because all of those models have a GTX 1050 installed (http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/inspiron-15-5000-gaming/spd/inspiron-15-5577-gaming-laptop?appliedRefinements=401,402).

Now, I have to admit, I'm not super-impressed with their potential configurations, either:

  ■ the RAM isn't really impressive, as only 1 of the configurations has 16GB (although all 4 models can go up to 32GB). But, that may be more of a personal choice
  ■ Don't really love some of the storage options. Sure, a 512GB SSD seems nice (1 of the i7 models), but that's not really as much storage space anymore as you might think. You're looking at maybe enough for 6-8 games on there (more if they're older ones that don't use uncompressed texture/sound files), & then you have to get an external drive. The 256GB version would be even worse (maybe 3-5 games tops). I don't necessarily love the HDD model (as it's a 5400RPM one), so the 'best' option there is the dual-drive (128GB SSD for OS, 1TB 5400RPM HDD for storage).
  ■ GTX 1050 doesn't really impress for a "gaming" laptop. That's great for 720p, & "ok" for 1080p...but you're not going to be near the top on the graphics.

To be honest, their Inspiron 15 7000 series seems better (http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/inspiron-15-7000-gaming/spd/inspiron-15-7567-laptop?appliedRefinements=401,402); GTX 1050TI is more powerful (although still not quite as good as a 1060), & the i7 model with 16GB of DDR4 RAM also has the dual storage drives.
