Hey guys, I've been looking for this answer in the net, but I can't find anything specific.
Can someone please tell me how much data does The Division (PC) uses over an hour?
My friend doesn't have an internet connection and he will use his 4G phone as modem.
He has a 3GB a month limit.

Thanks in advance! :)

I would imagine data usage will fluctuate quite a bit while gaming. Im not sure either if I had to guess, .5gb an hour or so maybe less. Regardless I wouldn't recommend gaming on a cell plan with a 3gb cap your going to hit that quick.

You can try this data usage calculator if you want, I have no idea how accurate it is but it might get close: http://www.cableone.net/Docs/datacalculator.html#

Hmmm, maybe, I'm trying the calculator, and the numbers aren't that disappointing.
150 hours of heavy playing are 2.93GB a month, according to that page. That's 5 hours a day. He won't reach those 5 hours a day.
Even if we would, he can buy another 3GBs for a few bucks. So he would be fine I think.
I just downloaded Netbalance and will try it tonight to see what happens.

Thanks for your reply!

My bad, missed the dot. Sorry, and thanks again Dunlop. 😀

Maybe you're right, but I'm thinking this, if the game doesn't need to download images, objects or anything else, there's no need to take that much of data. I think it's only the damage data, and the voice comms. I don't know.
The Dark Zone definitely would be a booster for the data.

Co-op in single player area would also be a big user, good call.

I'm finding the only times I lose a little of my paranoid caution is when I'm fully pimped out at the top level of each grouping. Otherwise, I'm trying to maintain the "always be ready to bail and run" mode.

Hey guys, last night I had the time to measure the data transfer over an hour. You can see the results in this image.
Adding the 13.5MB from Uplay, it's just 36.8MB.
This is only me, no mic or Dark Zone. I didn't find players to play the missions with.
But, I'll measure it again and try to get that number up, to see a how much comms and DZ adds.

PS: The total MB's 61.9, but that's my pc, other pc's may vary, right?

Good question regarding variance. I bet what you do matters most.
Say he plays 4 times a week. Maybe for a few hours more on saturdays or sundays. I'd bet he'll be fine with 3 gigs, once he has the program installed and updated(that new update was what? almost 4 gigs alone?)
Maybe he does the installing and updating at a friends house?😉

Awww yeah, he bought the game, but a couple of days after the update (it was exactly 3.8GB), so I copied my installed game folder and pasted it into his pc, so, no worries this time, I think when the next patch comes alive it'll be the same.
Anyway, he's fine with those 3GB, but the good news is he got an update in his plan, and now he has 7GB!!! XD
