Hi everyone,
Here's the situation in brief: i used to have a R.a.t. cyborg mouse that worked perfectly for nearly 2 years, then all of a sudden it started to freeze from time to time, especially when wheeling down pages,( Left click+ wheel down was a guaranteed freeze).
I thought it wasn't that big deal since i was able to get the mice working again just by plugging off the usb and then back on again.
This freeze (which i've read it's quite common on r.a.t.'s) used to happen only while browsing the internet, but it then started to happen also while gaming,so i took my patience and decided to look for a solution on the mighty google: sadly, the only answer i've found to my question was to just try and install the cyborg/saitek driver,so i did, and boom my pc got screwed up: at 100% of that damn driver installation my whole pc got frozen so i had to restart the whole thing up.
I then thought to just remove the driver and then try and reinstall it, so i did and the pc got frozen again: at that point i decided to remove the driver totally.
After the removal the r.a.t. freezes started to happen more and more often, every 5 minutes or so, so i decided that the mouse itself might have been the problem, luckily enough my girlfriend, probably feeling my pain, anticipated my thoughts and gifted me a mouse above other presents for xmas.
Now comes the real problem: the new mouse (CM storm) wasn't even recognized by win7, it wasn't working at all, even though all lights were on and it seemed perfectly powered up.
I then noticed that a good old optical mouse i used to keep in a drawer for emergencies was working perfectly, even along the new mouse.
I thought there might have been some sort of driver conflict so i decided to format my ssd and reinstall win7 again.
After all the necessary updates and everything, the mouse worked for like half an hour then the freeze started to happen again, but with a big difference from the r.a.t. mouse: when this new one freezes the solution is not easy as plugging off and on a cable..i have to try all usb ports and pretty much all of them end up not even recognizing the mouse and even if it does get recognized by win7 it fails to install the driver, even though it works for a while and then freezes again.
I think i've tried everything possible but changing the motherboard at this point,i also tried getting the battery out of the motherboard for cmos reset.
Now the fun thing is that all other usb devices (keyboard, pens, printer etc) work perfectly and get recognized instantly when plugged in.
here's my pc in brief:
asrock z77 extreme4
i5 3570k
gtx 770
g skill 4x2=8gb 2133
samsung evo ssd 500 gb
ocz psu 750w
thanks in advance for any help you guys will give me
