The file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum.

I get that error when i try to start my computer, the error started after i Uninstalled my alienware theme on my
laptop.
And then it just crashed in the middle of uninstalling and after that i cant start it again.
What comes up is The asus logo thats starting it, and right before it goes to win7 loading screen it says

^The file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum^

I think its the Boot Image that was destroyed in the uninstall and the uninstaller didnt have time to change the paramater codes on the image so Windows won`t load the boot image. :fou:

I have tried a MILLION times to enter bios but Right before it gets to the bios enter screen the black screen saying The file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum.
Pops up..

I would be happy if anyone could help me, And no the computer did not have any windows installation disks.. Either way i couldnt have gotten to bios and changed the boot order.. so...

Thx in advance..

Solution
If I read correctly and your machine does not POST and let you enter BIOS, your issue has nothing to do with windows. You should be able to enter BIOS without a drive connected.
Have you tried a USB dongle BIOS update?
Just tried it, and it doesnt work. I still do think this is from the theme i uninstalled, because that made its own boot image when i installed it. and now when i uninstalled it my computer crashed in the middle of the process.

I have an asus n53sv With Asus Express Gate Cloud, and that works Perfectly , But windows still wont boot. and i cant acsess the windows files from Express gate cloud..

I just made it work again, as you said it wasnt a windows fault, the POST Message was just to quick for me to see it so i had to press f10 All the time while booting then i got into bios.

Thx for the help 😛

my laptop has done the same thing you described with the checksum error is there any help you could offer me? i would greatly appreciate it!!
