The front usb ports on my case don't work after bios update.
I have a ASUS z68 with ahttp://www.coolermaster.com/case/mid-tower/elite-430-black/
I've tried plugging the cables into both usb 2.0 slots on the mobo and none of them work.
I lokked in the bios and IO don't see anything wrong with the usb settings. (There's only 3 of them) So it seem prettry simple to check.

Thanks for your help so far. I have tried both of the black slots on the mobo (Im assuming they're usb 2.0) and I pulled the the front usb ports of an old case an plugged them in as well. No work,so I think we've narrowed it down to the motherboard or a driver issue.
I even reinstalled windows.
This is driving me crazy. I need these ports for controllers and my headset to work. I'm running my turtle beach X42's through a wired xbox 360 controller (For the mic) and the chord is too short to reach around the back and to my seat.
I ran the driver booster and found that some things were way outdated so that was a great tool that I didn't know about Thanks !!!
However nothing about usb ports or drivers showed up.
Where does that leave me ?
Could the motherboard be messed up ? I find it odd that out of 5 usb slots, none work. The only usb ports that work are on the back of the mobo.

Here is a picture of the mobo with the slots highlighted

The 3.0 that's in the center doesn't work either. It's a rectangular slot that connects to two a removable slots in the back of the case.
I hope that picture can give you an idea or help some how.

I found this http://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1000731/ but that doesn't help me. I've tried every plug and nothing works

Here is the support section for my mobo http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z68V_PRO/HelpDesk/

I would really appreciate any help you guys may have. I'm willing to try anything at this point.

That should be pretty simple right ? I've looked through the bios and there's only three settings. The only thing that's disabled is achi hand off. I think that's what it's called. it say's it's a workaround for os's that don't have the ability to do hand offs.

OK, It works now. Thanks a lot guys !!!
Now I need to figure out why Windows 8.2 Pro won't detect my 360 controller.

I was thinking the firewire ports on the mobo were usb slots. They're identical other than the color. I installed a bunch of drivers and updated the bios again.
I had tried all the ports before the updates and they didn't work so I'm thinking it was the drivers, but I'm not sure, since I did so many things after the issue started.
I reinstalled windows as well.
Thanks for your help.
