My friend and I were having a big debate the other day over what is the best way to run a CD Rewriter in your system. I've read both ways:
Primary Master- HDD
Primary Slave- CD
Secondary Master-CDRW
Or
Primary Master-HDD
Primary Slave-none
Secondary Master-CDRW
Secondary Slave-CD
Which is correct? He says the data transfer is better if you run the hard drives on the same IDE channel and the CD's on the other. Some reports say you should run the CD on a separate IDE channel that the rewriter. At this point, I don't know what to think. BTW...this friend is very well educated in computer hardware...that's why I take his word for things (mostly).
all this HARDware nonsense is giving me a headache! :frown:
