The GTX 970 VRAM Issue - Is it possible to just cap your computer from using more than 3.5GB?

I was wondering, Is there a way to just tell your PC not to exceed 3500mb?

I noticed on MSI Afterburner and the RivaStatisticsServer thingymabob, you can lock the FPS, so is there a way to lock the VRAM Usage?

it would have to pull from ram instead which would be even slower than the extra 0.5GB. I think this is what the rumoured driver fix would have done, but that rumour was squashed.

You'd want to reduce graphics options to fit in the 3.5GB. Spilling over into the slower memory buffer is still hugely faster than system RAM.
