The i5-4690K or i7-4790K for me?

Hello, I have no idea if I have to get the i5-4690K or the i7-4790K. I got the extra money for the i7, but if it will not help for me, it is wasted money of course. I got a msi gtx 970 and 8gb ram. I want to play games on highest settings possible. Maybe I want to stream a bit too, but only for league of legends so that is not a very high graphics game. Will the i7 have an extra benefit for me over the i5? Will I for example have to upgrade my cpu way earlier if I get the i5 instead of the i7?

The i5 will be more than sufficient, the i7 will help you a tiny bit for your purposes but not enough to justify the price margin.

Depends on the games. Most of the latest EA games and a few others benefit from Intel i7s. The trend will be growing soon. Get the i7 for future-proofing.

If you have the money, get the i7. Even to this day, I'm always half-way wishing that I would of gone with the i7. For gaming, an i5 is more than enough, but if you're like me and try new things on your PC from time to time, an i7 comes in handy.

Plus, the future-proofing aspect, like Degarmo mentioned.
