Hello all,
I started a while ago with collecting data for my new PC build. I’m currently using a €1200 custom build PC which is almost 4 years old (If you are interested in my custom build pc, feel free to ask).
I am an amateur when it comes to good hardware for the right applications, so I actually need advice and suggestions.
I will build the PC for the following applications:
1. Photoshop CPU single core based (for digital painting, huge resolution files with big brushes)
2. Solidworks CPU or GPU (Heavy 3D modelling, it varies from big assemblies to small ones)
3. Keyshot CPU multi core based (Ideal for quick and good quality renderings)
I am also planning to use it for the following programs:
- After Effects
- Premiere Pro
- Maya or 3ds Max
I also did a little research about recommendations for the applications (whether it’s CPU or GPU based).
As far as i know, a Quadro card is only necessary if I use simulations with Solidworks. However I’m not sure, so correct me if I am wrong. I also read a lot of comments saying that AMD cards work better with 3D modelling, not sure why.
I personally think that CPU is the most important for now. And it is really difficult to choose a good CPU which works well with applications like Photoshop (Single core, high GHZ) and Keyshot (Multi Core, low GHZ). What is the best suitable CPU for my PC build?
I live in Europe so the prices will be a bit different.
Here is the list I have got so far. However feel free to make a better suggested list!
- CPU Intel Core I7-7700K – 4.2 GHZ
- CPU Cooler NZXT Kraken X62 RGB
- Motherboard ASUS ROG Maximus IX Formula
- Memory Corsair Dominator Platinum – DDR4 (2400 MHz) 32GB
- Storage M.2 - Samsung 960 PRO MZ-V6P512BW (Operating the system and applications)
- Storage SSD – Samsung 850 EVO MZ-75E250Z (Scratch disk)
- Storage Normal harddisk 1TB or 2TB
- Graphics Card ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1080 A8G Gaming
- Case Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV Tempered Glass - ATX
- Power Supply Corsair HX750i 750 Watt - ATX (80 Plus Platinum)
- Operating System Windows 7 Proffesional SP 1 (64-bit)
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
I am not a hardcore gamer anymore, so GTX 1080 will do the job for GPU as far as I know.
What is your budget?
My budget will be €3000 (It’s okay if it goes up to €3500).
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
Europe (It's not a country but the pricing is almost the same in every country in EU).
