The installed RAM in my pc shows only 2.50gb ram but i installed a total of 4gb of ram (2*2gbRAM))

Hi Everybody

I just wanted to know why my computer shows only 2.50gb RAM installed.... but i did put (2*2gb RAM) in my pc

my processor is [Intel Core 2 DUO E4600 2.40GHZ

and the rams that i installed are all DDR2

and i also have a videocard [GEforce 210 1gb]

and i am running a windows 7 32bit OS

please help me

Hi You are running a 32 bit Operating system. With 4Gb of installed ram, you will only see 3.5 Gb Max, but most likely 3.0 Gb. You will be using some ram.

Could be a bad stick. I would just run with the 2 Gb stick and 1 Gb stick for 3 Gb. Thta is most likely all you are going get anyway.

Change Your kernal memory To free up some physical memory Or open up the system performance propertie and change The ram to 4.00gb

Ok. As I said you are running a 32 bit OS. You will only show 3.50 GB. You have 2Gb and then added another 1 Gb for a total of 3Gb, You are running so your are using some memory, and that is the reason tou only see 2.5 Gb.
