Ive been reading a lot of the reviews on Newegg of the Gigabyte GA965PDS3 and I see that the board has a lot of issues

I think it would be a good thing if we get this out, or disprove myths.

Ive heard about issues with RAM (1.8v), IDE drives (?), and SATA opticals. There is always the RMA. How has your experience been with Gigabyte tech support and their RMA process?

There is also the matter of BIOS version and Board Revision. What have your experiences been with different BIOSes and Revisions.

Lets get this issues out in a clear way.

I actually wanted to hear from DS3 owners what issues they have encountered.

Thanks though, but I would like to hear more opinions and experiences before making a final decision.

got my motherboard DS3 rev1, updated the bios using their @BIOS software, it got corrupted and I send back the board for RMA...waited 5 weeks to get back my board...

the new board is rev 3.3, so far no issue....running well....

im using the Rev 1.0 too and flasing bios thru @BIOS has never give a problem!

u have to set optimized defaults before flashing using @BIOS to avoid the bios corruption. performance is flawless! kudos too gigabyte for making such powerful mobo! 😀

between p965 boards.. its a matter of brand choice really..

for me, id go with the p5b ~ call me a fanboy but in the past ive got quite a few gbyte boards fail on me

the past cant be compared to the current lines of mboards. gigabyte has done a great job in a very short time!

my current DS3 is my very 1st gigabyte mboard and im impressed.

but sure ASUS is a great manufacturer too.. it has maintained the reability for such a long time and praised as one of the best mobo manufacturer.

its just the matter of ur own choice now. both have good reputation now.
