The K6000 and gaming

I need a good card for animating so I was getting this and I was wondering if it can run games too

To my knowledge it should perform quite well. Although not designed to play games, workstation cards are still capable of running, and as the K6000 seems to be an upgraded 6000 it should get more than acceptable performance.

Also in some cases if there is an OpenGL mode in the game, enabling it may increase the performance.

It most certainly can. The drivers for the Quadro professional graphics cards are based on those of the GeForce consumer graphics cards but lag behind for QA purposes. This means that any bugs that exist in the GeForce drivers with respect to new games will exist in the Quadro drivers for some time until the patches are pulled in.
