The local policy of this system does not permit you to log..

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.win2000.advanced_server (More info?)

I have reinstalled Wondows 2000 Server on my computer successfully except
for the above message which I get when I try to log on to the server as an
ordinary user (rather than an administrator)
I have set the group policy user rights assignment to allow log on locally
to the built-in Users group but this has not solved the problem
Any ideas?

Thanks for this tip - gpedit opens the Local computer Policy but I the local
policy settings are overriden by domain-level p;olicy settings ('Effective
policy settings') which are greyed out - how can I change these ?

change settings there
