Question The monitor has no signal, tried it on another computer and it does work

I have tried to get my computer to work with my monitor. I keep getting this signal no signal message. I did match up the chord to the monitor such as dvi, HDMI, and such. None was noticed it still showed no signal. This computer was down for about a year. It was working before it was put away. I did re-apply some thermal compound on the chip to see if that helped and it did not. I checked my chords to the machine and they seem to be ok. Any other ideas?
