Prepare to be amazed, all Super Mario 64 gurus/fans! The picture above
is the result of over a decade of work. What you see is Mario STANDING
(not swimming) in the tunnel that connects the two towns of the
high/low water level stage in Super Mario 64! I have tried for years
to figure out how to do this and today I finally managed to get Mario
into this tunnel without any water.
The programmers obviously do not want people to do this because there's
an alarming bug that occurs if you manage it. If you manage to get
Mario into this part of the tunnel while completely dry, you will
notice that as you walk towards the first part of the level, the game
will force the tunnel to be flooded with water because the feat I've
accomplished is a physical impossibility according to the programmers.
Also, sometimes as Mario walks towards the entry of the tunnel, the
game will magically transport Mario out of the tunnel into a fully
flooded version of the first city. If you try to go back to the second
part of the town (through the tunnel), the water will magically
disappear as you near the end of the tunnel. Now, if only Luigi
figured into this whole equation...
