Question The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA 6.0 Gb/s port is disabled

so i was wondering how i figure out what sata port will be disabled or if it was just as simply as trial and error?

This jusy means when you use a sata m.2 drive one of the sata ports is disabled and used for the m.2 drive.

I've already purchased the motherboard on my list. was a bit cheaper as well

Just plug them in and see if the drives work. If not, move the sata plug to another connector.

The link I posted was the mobo that came up the first time I clicked your list. You can look at the MSI board on Newegg to see which port is disabled or read the manual.

Yours is SATA_1 that gets disabled.

The OP needs to provide the permanent link to his build for us to know what he has or at least tell us. Unless we're at his actual computer. Otherwise, we're being asked a specific question about specific hardware without knowing the hardware!
