The mystery of the disappearing, reappearing HDDs

I recently installed an OCZ Vertex 4 128gb SSD as a boot drive and it works without issue. However, the two HDDs that I use for storage are now disappearing from windows randomly. One is a SG 2TB 7200RPM 64MB cache, and the other is a WD 1TB black. Sometimes one will disappear, sometimes the other, and sometimes both. It's not consistently one or the other. The SSD has not ever disappeared.

As far as I know, none of the drives have disappeared from BIOS, only Windows 7. If I go into Disk Management the HDDs don't appear until I scan for hardware changes after which windows finds the missing HDDs again. The HDDs also reappear after a restart.

I really have no idea what's happening with this and would love any solution to this problem.

Try to update the MB drivers like the intel chipset diver, AHCI driver.

Had issues of my RAID disappearing about 8 months ago. Put in new SATA cables and problem solved. Try that as well.
