I bought an ASUS 760M-K D4 motherboard for my i5-12400F CPU and after just a single day, the ethernet stopped working.

I was watching a video on Youtube and suddenly the internet connection stopped. Since then, the ethernet port light is off. Tried a different cable. The Ethernet light on my router is off. I tried connecting other devices to my router with the same ethernet cable and they work, so it's not a cable issue.

The Ethernet is not recognized in "network connections" or "device manager". Tried to install the drivers and I receive the message : "The Realtek network controller was not found". If deep speed mode is enabled please plug de cable"

I also disabled and then enabled the ethernet from BIOS but nothing seems to work.
Sadly it looks like the ethernet failed after a single day.

What BIOS version are you working with at this moment of time? Is the board brand new or used? If brand new, you might want to look into RMA'ing the motherboard.

The Ethernet is not recognized in "network connections" or "device manager".
Just to clarify, the board's NIC doesn't show up in Device Manager, correct? What OS are you working with?

Exactly, NIC doesn't show up in Device Manager. I use Windows 10.

That’s really frustrating — sounds like you’ve already done a thorough job troubleshooting.

If the Ethernet port light on both the motherboard and router is off, and it’s not even showing up in Device Manager (especially with that “Realtek network controller was not found” error), it unfortunately points to a hardware failure on the board. Since you’ve tested the cable and router with other devices, and also toggled the BIOS settings and tried reinstalling drivers, it's unlikely to be a software issue.

You might want to Google around for similar reports — some users with Realtek chips have seen faulty onboard Ethernet on certain boards.

If it’s still under warranty or returnable, I’d recommend going for an RMA or exchange. In the meantime, a USB to Ethernet adapter can help keep you online. Hope it gets sorted soon!

Thank you !
I bought the motherboard several days ago. I can return it in the first 15 days and ask for a refund. I will mention them that the ethernet has failed in the first 24 hours.
For the moment my phone is connected to Wi-fi and I'm sharing the internet connection through USB tethering.
