Google chrome was up on my laptop and suddenly a separate window opened that said "The page at source 589.com says: Microsoft Detected Security Error due to suspicious activity. Please contact Microsoft Certified Live Technicians for Help" with the numbers *-***-***-****. There was also a computer generated voice reading this same message in a loop. Is this for real?

I would also install Malwarebytes and run it. If this came up on your computer there is a good chance you have a virus or spyware already installed.

I have been getting many pages that just open up on their own, and this was one of them. I am so tech slow. I know it must be some sort of virus, I have microsoft security but it doesnt seem to get it. what was the malware thing you said to run?

I have been having the same issue, but as i am using a chromebook, it is not compatible with any of the virus detection and removal things i've tried to get. Is there anyway to take care of this without resetting to factory settings?
