The partitions external hard drive not recognized

Hi
The problem I'm dealing with is that the partitions of the external hard drive don't get recognized when I connect it to the computer
the external hasn't got dropped or any thing like that , the problem happened suddenly
when I open disk management or any other program that could deal with these type of problems the computer freezes and doesn't respond to anything till I unplug the external hard disk
I tried connecting it to other computers and the same thing always happen
some times two partitions get recognized and the other two continue being unrecognized but when I try to access the data that is inside the recognized partitions and move to the computer the data either doesn't move at all or moves with very low speed
I'm in serious need of the data that is on the external and I can't handle losing any bits of it
any suggested solutions would be appreciated

Have you tried to use a different USB cable.

In case the issue persists:
- Your safest bet would be to contact a data recovery comapny.
- If you don't really want to go with that, you can use some data recovery tools for DOS mode, as the Win tools hang.

well , after trying parted magic it seems to be a hardware problem unfortunately
