Hi there!

I'm attempting to access my router interface so that I may forward some ports for gaming. When I enter my Default Gateway into my browser, I receive this error: "The portal is not configured for your IP on this rXg device."

I'm not sure what it means. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate Edition. Here's some more info about my network:

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::c8aa:5795:efa3:2f94%10
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 10.49.1.244
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.248
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.49.1.241

Internet is provided as part of my rent by my apartment complex. I am plugged into a socket in my room's wall with a CAT 5e cable. I assume the socket runs into something somewhere that provides internet. There is no apparent router/modem in the apartment that I have access to.

I appreciate any responses to this thread. Thanks!

Solution
It means you are trying to break into the router owned by the apartment complex and they have rigged it to only be accessible from ip addresses they control. They have intentionally prevented access from anyone except their admins. There is no "my router" as you state there is only the apartment complex router.

This is the big problem with internet you get for free or included. You are not getting a public address and there is no way you can do port forwarding because you do not own the device that does have the public ip address.

Your only option is going to be to see if they have a method to get you a actually public address. You will in almost all cases have to pay for that.

This is because this is an RGNets rXg box. These create accounts with each account being in its own vlan but you can only access it from the management vlan. If you cannot get internet, it is because you do not have an account with the apartment or you did not pay (if the make you pay). Call the apartments IT Dept.
