The power supply, consumes what it indicates?

Hello everyone, I have a doubt, if my components consume for eg 300w.

But I have a 600w power supply

Will the consumption of the power supply be 300w or 600w?

The power supply will only draw what the components draw.

So a 1 KW PSU will only draw 400W if the components in the machine require 400W, for example.

It will consume 300W if your components need 300W. Rating on the PSU means only how much it CAN provide, not how much it provides all the time. It all depends on how much components need. Besides, rating usually doesn't mean much when cheap PSUs are in question, low-quality manufacturers often outright lie about true wattage. Which model of the PSU is it? What components are you using?

If you have a 800W build on a 80% efficiency PSU it will draw 1000W from the grid, no matter whether it's a 850W or a 2000W unit.
