The requirement to upgrade an integrated video card

Aug 7, 2012
Hello to All. Hope everyone is okay. I recently purchased a Gateway DX4860-UR10P PC computer from Tiger Direct. Thereafter, decided to purchase The Sims 3 but first called support dept (EA) and asked about the requirements for the game. The rep informed me that from the specs of my computer (which are listed below) was alright until I mentioned the dedicated memory is 64 MB.
Then stated if I did run the game as is it will work for a period of time but it will eventually become slow and sluggish. Yes, I did purchase The Sims 3 and it plays okay, when I turn the other applications off. As it stands now, my computer is slow in accessing the internet and playing Windows Media Player and Itunes at the same time. I am wondering if upgraded the video card would I have to upgrade the power supply as well?
Any advice or suggestions on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your patience and consideration. Have a nice day/evening.

Indeed. My sister's laptop can play it on the max settings. Its an AMD E-350 APU and 3GB of DDR3 RAM. Pretty much any discrete card can handle it.

Dear CT1615,

I was wondering with the AMD 6570 isn't that the mid range level card on the scale? Or am I wrong? Also, this will have to be inserted into a PCI slot or another slot I assume? Any information or suggestions on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Have a nice day/evening.
