The right PSU for my PC

I'm planning on building a PC with these specs:

AMD FX-8320 (OC to 4GHz)
8GB RAM
Radeon R9 270X 2GB
1TB HDD

I was unsure of what PSU to use. I have been looking at a Corsair CX750. Is this overkill or will I need a PSU with more power? If so, any recommendations?

This would be a better quality PSU to get then the Corsair CX series.
A decent 550W will be fine .

You won't be needing a very beefy PSU for that setup. I'd go for a PSU supply around the 600-650W area and even there, you will have headroom for overclocking etc. The CX series of Corsair isn't the best and I would recommend going with a unit from Antec, XFX, Seasonic.

a descent 550w or 650w should be enough. taht psu is overkill. check for tier 1 or tier 2 psu if possible

Out of curiosity, would you recommend a PSU with more wattage if I swapped the R9 270X out for a R9 280?

No a decent 550W, Tier 1 and 2 is enough for any single gpu including the GTX Titan.
