The right PSU

I recently decided i buy the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 1GB rather than AMD Radeon HD 7770 1GB and i know what it needs more power. For this reason should I get a better PSU, maybe 600W. I know people don't seem to like Xigmatek so i can get another brand, i just need to know if i need more power or not.

can i have the model number of your psu?

so i can see the amps on the 12v rail xigmatek isn't known to be the best so i want to see if it specifically can be good at that or if you cutting too close.

500w should be sufficient if it's coming from a quality PSU.

Sorry but im very new to this, i have not got the psu yet am not 100% sure how to find what you mean

I would avoid anything from Xigmatek and instead look at something from Corsair, Antec or Seasonic. Look at the recommended psus listed in the sticky.

In particular, at least one Xigmatek 500 reviewed very poorly:

btw -- Xigmatek seems fine for cases. We seem to have several companies making cases who decide to branch out into other components, but are clearly small and don't have the proper resources (or motivation) to do a good job at psus...Cooler Master and Thermaltake being other examples.

Since you don't have the PSU yet, there are definitely some good suggestions that we can make. A system using a single GTX 560 requires a 450W PSU with at least 28A on the 12V rails and two 75W 6-pin PCIe power connectors. Recommendations in order:

All of them have sufficient power on the 12V rails, sufficient power connectors, and are capable of supporting significant overclocking or a significant GPU upgrade in the future.
