Hello guys,

I need a new monitor, I decided to go for a 1440p G-Sync one, but no idea which one to go for, The ROG PG278QR or the Predator XB271HU?

Both are TN Panels, is the IPS ones worth the 100-150 bucks extra?

The Predator has a 4ms response time compared to the 1ms of the ROG, is it a big deal?

I'm coming from a GTX 970 with a cheap 1080p PN Samsung to a GTX 1080, so need some help haha

The ACER is an IPS (AVHA) class display, so they aren't that comparable.

The PG278QR is the updated version of the original PG278Q which was also TN.

PG279Q is the direct competitor to the XB271HU and the older XB270HU.

In the grand scheme of things, 1ms or 4ms isn't that big a deal. Both offer the much reduced input lag of the G-Sync 2.0 module, and G-Sync itself.

I have IPS monitors as well and gotta say ROG TN panel is very very very good..... their are advantages and disatvanges for TN and IPS..... for gaming I like the ASUS PG278QR...its a little cheaper and I have one like it...
